It seems to reveal a boogeyman, but it actually reveals nothing of the sort.

I should also note that the prayer bothered me for some time, even after we became Orthodox, but now having had the privilege and duty of reciting the post-communion prayers in our parish for a couple of years now, I am much more at home with it. Suffice it to say, one must have a proper understanding of Orthodox soteriology and anthropology, but once one realizes what is being said, there is nothing worrisome about it at all.David Garnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10868519827605827991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7501850621793894577.post-74820471527487108742014-02-10T12:59:15.528-08:002014-02-10T12:59:15.528-08:00I am at a loss for time, so I can't review Wee...I am at a loss for time, so I can't review Weedon's lecture, but as he told the story I remember thinking he took it out of context. Another correspondent who's emailed me privately confirmed me in that view. As time permits I'll say more.Fr. I was wondering what your opinion was of his take on the desert father who died saying, "I need more time to repent." I am operating on distant memory here, but if I recollect correctly I believe the whole point of that story was different than what Rev. Weedon made it out to be. Do you know off-hand if Rev. Weedon's critique was in fact a decontextualization or a misconstrual? I will have to find the source again and look into it.

I look forward to reading the rest of your evaluation should you have the time to get to it!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00902114141632684658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7501850621793894577.post-25649982529691378422014-02-04T13:04:52.262-08:002014-02-04T13:04:52.262-08:00Thanks, Nick.
